Not only will you find an abundance of iron nodes, but you’ll also be able to get hold of some shroom amantia, coal, and wood. farm stone for the furnace, use WOOD for fuel to make your first iron bars, then make iron tools and weapons and THEN go farming for more iron and coal ( and other materials you need), now you have iron tools aand weapons early on. One of the best places to find iron in Conan Exiles is to the northwest of the Mounds of the Dead in the resource-rich Dirgewood. Next kill stuff and make sure you can open the furnace and armorer etc, just open what you need. Just next to the NPC camp is a small iron node, you now have iron ore. Move along the river until you reach the landmark "sentinles" carefully looking around you will come accross a campsite with NPCs close to several "red" shalebacks. There is iron nodes to the east and west, don't go north even for coal in the beginning. It is all by the river, the area you come down to from the desert.
Let me start out with saying i have not played the game very long, about 150Hours total, however i know of several very early iron scourses, some even "safe" to farm.
